Jeremy Johnson Selected as one of “30 Under 30” in education in 2014
Forbes debuted their third annual 30 Under 30 list this week, which profiles 30 rising stars in 15 different industries. The list includes brand builders, do-gooders, founders and funders who have made a difference in their field. They’re entrepreneurial, dynamic and influential in the areas of tech, Hollywood, science, games, sports, energy, good, law, music, art, finance and more. It’s exciting to be included in this list of youthful go-getters, and we couldn’t be prouder of our own Jeremy Johnson for the second year in a row as one of the 30 under 30 in education in 2014.
Jeremy also won the honor in 2013 and described what his goal is every day at 2U: “Our goal is to find a way to create online experiences that have the same student outcomes, the same level of quality as on campus at the best schools in the world. To do that requires actual interaction with professors, small group classes and real admission standards.”
Jeremy cofounded 2U at the age of 24 with a handful of education veterans and has worn many hats around the company over the past six years. Currently he is serving as the chief strategy officer helping to drive 2U’s vision and represents the company at events around the world. He also serves on the board of PENCIL.org in New York City as well as the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC). If you want to keep up with Jeremy, you can find him on Twitter at @JeremyJ.
